With a 58-10 win over App State, JMU is sitting pretty at 9-1 overall. The Dukes have clinched a spot in the Sun Belt title game and should have a decent bowl destination this winter. Let’s see where experts project the Dukes to play.

JMU at Ole Miss in the first-round of the College Football Playoff.
PFSN is sticking with this projection. Is it likely? Well, JMU is still unranked by the College Football Playoff selection committee. If that doesn’t change soon, it’s hard to see JMU actually making the CFP.

Kyle Bonagura: JMU vs. Florida State in the Birmingham Bowl on Dec. 29
OK! These would be fun. The obvious potential concern would be players in the portal or coaching turnover, but facing an ACC team in a bowl game would be a huge deal for the Dukes. It’s a chance to prove they deserve more national respect.
Also, for a program four years into its FBS existence, being projected to face Florida State in the postseason is cool.
Athlon Sports’ Steve Lassan
JMU vs. North Texas in the Boca Raton Bowl on Dec. 23.
We’d be cool with this. If JMU and North Texas both miss the College Football Playoff, it’d make for a nice postseason matchup.
CBS Sports’ Brad Crawford
JMU vs. Jacksonville State in the New Orleans Bowl on Dec. 23.
Meh. I love the location, but it’s easy to understand fans who want a higher profile opponent. Jacksonville State is undefeated in CUSA games so far, but the Gamecocks lost to Southern Miss and Georgia Southern earlier this season.
The Athletic’s Scott Dochterman
JMU vs. UConn in the Cure Bowl (Orlando, Florida) on Dec. 17
UConn has multiple wins over ACC schools this year. This could be an entertaining game.
Sports Illustrated’s Bryan Fischer
JMU vs. Kennesaw State in the Cure Bowl in Orlando, Florida, on Dec. 17.
Perhaps an elitist take, but I don’t need to see JMU play a CUSA team this postseason. The Dukes are one of the 25 best teams in college football, and they deserve to face an American contender or a Power Conference school in December.
But Kennesaw State is fun this year, and first-year head coach Jerry Mack will likely be a candidate at JMU if Bob Chesney takes a P4 job.
