A class of their own – JMU didn’t just win the Jackrabbit Invitational, it destroyed the opposition. The Dukes won by 27 strokes, which is an absurd margin of victory.

Ignacio Montero wins first career tournament – The senior’s 13-under par total score earned him an individual victory. He picked up 18 birdies over three days of competition.

What does this mean? – JMU men’s golf inches closer toward a potential NCAA Tournament berth. The team is a fringe at-large candidate to make a Regional, and the program is progressing to the point where it should likely make a Regional in the next 3-5 years. That might not get the casual fans excited, but the program is progressing nicely.

Up next – The Dukes get some time to rest before competing in the Tar Heel Intercollegiate beginning on March 23.
