Weekend recap – JMU softball (19-6, 2-1 CAA) beat Elon twice but fell to the Phoenix in a surprising Saturday defeat. JMU won the first game of the series 13-2, lost the second game 5-3 and won the third game 10-3.

What happened in the loss? – The bats didn’t do much, and Megan Good didn’t have her best stuff. It’s a loss that could hurt the Dukes’ chances of earning a seed in the NCAA Tournament, but Elon isn’t a bad team. The Phoenix have a win over a ranked Georgia team as well. It’s not a great loss, but it’s not worth freaking out about either.

Up next – The Dukes host Marshall on Wednesday (21-9) before a three-game road series with Towson (14-12).
