Solid win – The Dukes (20-6, 2-1 CAA) beat Marshall (21-11) by a final score of 8-5 on Wednesday and will face Towson (14-14, 1-2 CAA) over the weekend. Marshall is a competitive team, and JMU won despite not having its best stuff. It’s a good win for the Dukes.

Key stats – A few numbers tell the story of why the Dukes beat the Thundering Herd.

  • 12 hits, the whole team contributed offensively
  • 3 stolen bases, JMU was aggressive on the bases in its three-run win
  • 3 extra-base hits, 2 homers and a double ensured the Dukes would turn hits into runs

Up next – JMU heads to Towson for three winnable games.
