JMU vs. Charlotte Football TV Channel, Time, and Odds For August 31 Matchup

The Bob Chesney era officially arrives on Aug. 31, when JMU football visits the Charlotte 49ers in Week 1 of the 2024 season.

Both teams are expected to start transfer quarterbacks, with Washington transfer Dylan Morris the favorite to earn the starting job for JMU. Charlotte will lean on Florida transfer Max Brown, an athletic player with limited college experience.

Each side enters this upcoming season with drastically different expectations, as JMU was picked to finish second in the Sun Belt East. Charlotte was picked to finish 13th in the 14-team AAC, as Biff Poggi’s team isn’t expected to make a bowl game in his second season leading the program.

For Charlotte, the game represents a meaningful upset chance. For JMU, a win builds confidence in the Chesney regime.
