Three easy wins – JMU (31-7, 11-1 CAA) easily swept UNCW this weekend, with all three wins coming via the mercy rule after five innings. This was a nice way to bounce back after losing 12-0 to Virginia Tech in the second game of a doubleheader on Wednesday.

Game 1 – JMU won 8-0. Odicci Alexander struck out 11 batters in five innings pitched and knocked in two runs at the plate. Logan Newton and Sara Jubas both also drove in a pair of runs.

Game 2 – JMU won 13-0. Megan Good struck out 10 in a dominant pitching performance. Jubas drove in six runs.

Game 3 – JMU won 12-2. The Dukes hit three home runs en route to another easy win over the Seahawks. Freshman Victoria Figueroa blasted her first career home run in the game.

Up next – JMU hosts Duke on Wednesday before welcoming the College of Charleston to town for a three-game series.
