Regular-season champs – JMU (14-3, 6-0 CAA) beat Elon 16-8 on Friday and William & Mary 16-9 on Sunday to cruise to a 6-0 CAA record and the regular-season title. The CAA Tournament starts Friday at 4 p.m. All games will take place at Sentara Park.

CAA dominance – This is the eighth time in the last 10 seasons that the Dukes have won at least a share of the CAA regular season title. JMU last finished second in 2015.

CAA postseason chances – JMU enters the conference tournament as the heavy favorite. If any team stands a chance of taking down the Dukes, it’s likely Hofstra. The Pride fell to JMU 9-8 in double overtime in the past month. They might make this tournament interesting. Regardless of how the tournament plays out, JMU is going to make the NCAA Tournament.

Up next – CAA Tournament play. We’ll discuss that more on Friday.
