Overall finish – Placing sixth out of eight teams isn’t overly impressive, and I’m sure the Dukes wish they finished a bit higher as a team. A few individuals put together phenomenal performances, however, and that’s a big plus for JMU.
Nicolette Serratore – Pictured above, Serratore won the heptathlon 800m. As you can see by the video of her crossing the finish line, she gave every ounce of energy she had to become a CAA champion.
Olivia Viparina – She’s an endurance beast. Viparina won the 3000m steeplechase in impressive fashion. She was emotional as she crossed the finish line. #DontForgetTheBoringSports
Jantsen Wilson – The senior won the triple jump by posting a personal-best mark. The distance, 12.97 meters, is the second-best mark in JMU history, per the school’s recap.
Dominique Johnson – She won the discus with a throw of just over 51 meters. It was an impressive individual showing from Johnson.
