NCAA Tournament loss – In its first NCAA Tournament appearance, JMU women’s tennis lost 4-0 to Duke. While the result wasn’t ideal, it wasn’t unexpected. Ultimately, it won’t define what JMU accomplished this season.

Historic year – In Shelley Jaudon’s first season, the Dukes won their first CAA title in program history and made the NCAA Tournament. It’s hard to complain about that. 2019 was a great year for JMU women’s tennis.

Up next – The Dukes lose two talented seniors in Abby Amos and Emma Petersen, who is one of the best women’s tennis players in program history. Replacing those two won’t be easy, but talented freshmen Daria Afanasyeva and Amanda Nord make the program’s future exciting. Jona Roka will be an impact senior next year.
