Dukes lose two in tough series – JMU and Northeastern are evenly matched, which made for a great weekend series.
Game 1 – The Dukes couldn’t get much going offensively in a 6-1 loss. JMU only mustered four hits — all singles — in the lackluster offensive effort.
Game 2 – JMU won 9-8 in 11 innings. The Dukes fought hard and benefited from 5 2/3 shutout innings of relief from Nick Robertson. Tre Dabney paced the Dukes with three RBIs.
Game 3 – Northeastern won 5-4. Brady Harju hit a solo homer to tie the game at 4-4 in the top of the ninth, but the Huskies won on a sac fly in the bottom half of the inning.
CAA standings – With three conference games left in the season, we still don’t have much clarity in the CAA standings.
JMU is in a good spot heading into the final three CAA games against UNCW, but it needs to pick up a few wins. A series win would be huge.
Up next – The Dukes host Maryland, which the Dukes beat 14-1 on the road earlier this season, on Tuesday. Then, the Dukes face UNCW to close out the regular season.
