JMU signs 13 to 2019 recruiting class – Julio Ayamel, Hunter Bullock, Kevin Curry Jr., Dorian Davis, Austin Douglas, Jalen Green, C.J. Jackson, Sean Johns, Carlo Jones, Taurus Jones, Tanner Morris, Latrele Palmer and Jordan White round out the Dukes’ 2019 class.
Good Counsel trio – Linebacker Julio Ayamel, defensive lineman Jalen Green and running back Latrele Palmer all committed to JMU from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Maryland. Landing three kids from a high school as respected as Good Counsel is a huge get for the Dukes.
According to his head coach, Green would be heading to a Power 5 school if he were two inches taller. He’s expected to become a dominant defensive lineman in the CAA, especially as a pass rusher. Learning from Ron’Dell Carter and John Daka will serve him well.
Greg Madia’s detailed article on the trio explains how Palmer likely wouldn’t be a Duke if Mike Houston was still JMU’s head coach. The Dukes are getting a good one in the extremely powerful 225-pound tailback.
Running back attack – The Dukes are adding three tremendous backs to their team, and all three guys have the talent to help complement Percy Agyei-Obese and Jawon Hamilton this season. Keep an eye out for JMU’s rushing attack this season. While JMU doesn’t have a proven returner, the Dukes should be the favorite to lead the CAA in rushing behind an experienced offensive line.
