JMU loses first game of series – The Dukes (17-8) lost to a subpar Delaware team 5-3 in the first game of the series. Given the Dukes’ recent play, it was a surprising loss.

Righting the ship – Give JMU credit for figuring things out in the second and third games of the series. JMU beat the Blue Hens 11-2 Saturday and 7-4 Sunday.

Tre Dabney keeps rolling – Dabney isn’t your typical freshman. The third baseman leads the Dukes in home runs (4) and RBIs (16). His swing is solid and he looks like a future star for the Dukes. He went 5-12 with four RBIs against Delaware this weekend.

Up next – A Wednesday trip to VMI (5-18) before a three-game road weekend series with Elon (13-11, 2-1 CAA).
