Losing streak – After losing all three games this weekend, the Dukes (18-15, 2-7 CAA) are riding a seven-game losing streak. After yet another promising start to a season, JMU is faltering. Granted, the recent schedule has been difficult, but the Dukes have had good chances to win during this losing streak.

Game 1 – JMU lost 5-1. Kevin Kelly wasn’t dominant, but Charleston’s Griffin McLarty was. He allowed one run in a complete-game shutout. The Dukes struggled offensively against the ace.

Game 2 – JMU lost 6-5. The Dukes put up a better fight with Tre Dabney back in the lineup, but the Cougars scored once in the top of the ninth to take the victory from JMU. After scoring four runs through two innings, JMU’s lineup went cold.

Game 3 – JMU lost 10-8. The Dukes led 8-5 after seven innings but allowed five runs in the top of the eighth.

Up next – JMU hosts Virginia (19-13) on Tuesday.
