JMU drops first two games – The Dukes’ season came to an end quickly in the double-elimination CAA Tournament. JMU lost 2-1 to William & Mary on Wednesday before falling 9-7 to Northeastern on Thursday. The offense struggled in game one and the pitching faltered in game two.

Season review – JMU finishes the season with a 31-26 overall record, the best in Marlin Ikenberry’s four years leading the program. The Dukes were 11-13 in CAA regular season action.

Four years of Ike – Ikenberry has the team moving in the right direction, and the Dukes need to keep improving to become a more relevant JMU program. Through four seasons, Ikenberry is 105-110.

Moving forward – JMU has a solid group of young players, and freshman Tre Dabney will be fun to watch over the next three seasons. The Dukes still have a long way to go to be a CAA contender, though. They need to get better in every area of the game.
