Is JMU Football Ready for Sun Belt Contention? ($)

After Week 2 of the college football season, people (me) overreacted slightly to the Sun Belt’s dominance. It’s easy to understand why.

Appalachian State beat Texas A&M, Marshall beat Notre Dame, and Georgia Southern beat Nebraska. Well, the Sun Belt followed that up with a 2-9 nonconference record in Week 3. Not great!

Georgia State lost at home to Charlotte. Marshall fell to Bowling Green after jumping out to a 14-0 lead. Rice beat Louisiana. Yuck!

The poor Week 3 made it easy for JMU fans to think, “Are the Dukes ready to contend in the Sun Belt … immediately?”

I’m here to say it’s time for JMU fans (including myself) to hit pause on the week-by-week overreactions.
