It’s transfer portal season! While JMU women’s basketball fell short of making the NCAA Tournament in 2025, the Dukes are expected to be among the best mid-major teams in 2025-26.
Who will JMU add and see leave the program as it looks to make March Madness next season? We’re tracking the Dukes’ transfer portal activity here.
Transfer additions
Kylie Marshall, G, SMU — Make it three schools in three years for Marshall, who began her collegiate career at Texas A&M. She appeared in 30 games for SMU last season, starting five and averaging about 15 minutes and five points per contest. She adds important backcourt depth.
Bri McLead, C, SMU — Another Mustang! McLeod began her career at Colorado and missed most of last season at SMU because of injuries. She has great size at 6’3, but she’s yet to produce much at the college level. Dropping down to the Sun Belt should help, as McLeod looks to take on a bigger role later in her college career.
Transfer departures
Jada Mills, G – After appearing in 10 games as a freshman, Mills didn’t see any time for the Dukes this season. She didn’t have an obvious path to playing time in Harrisonburg, but could find increased time at a different mid-major.
Laura Molnárová, G – The Slovakian entered the portal after appearing in 13 games as a reserve for the Dukes in 2024-25.
