Not always pretty – JMU shot just 35 percent from the floor, and the Dukes gave the ball away 13 times. Surprisingly, the Dukes shot just 30 percent on two-point shots. By shooting 50 percent from deep and playing great defense, JMU pulled out a win. Georgetown shot just 27 percent from the floor and 21 percent from beyond the arc. 

No emotional letdown – Many expected JMU to falter emotionally after an intense battle with Virginia Tech. The Dukes jumped out to a 12-4 lead, so I don’t think an emotional letdown was at play. JMU did a good job staying focused and letting Thursday’s win stay in the past. 

Home-court advantage – JMU’s home winning streak sits at 31 games. The Dukes hope to ride the Convocation Center crowd to a win on Wednesday night. The Dukes (29-5) also matched a program record with 29 wins in a season.

Up next – The WNIT Final Four. JMU faces Northwestern (20-14, 9-9 Big 10) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The winner reaches the WNIT Championship, which will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m..
