Tough loss – JMU (18-12, 2-4 CAA) pitched fairly well but committed three errors and couldn’t turn eight hits into more than one run. The Dukes have lost four consecutive games.

What’s going wrong? The Dukes have a young lineup, and it’s been scuffling a bit. Pitching is JMU’s constant behind a strong bullpen and ace Kevin Kelly, but the lineup isn’t consistent. During the four-game losing streak, the Dukes have scored just nine total runs. We aren’t math experts at JMU Sports News, but we’re fairly certain averaging less than three runs per game over any stretch isn’t going to end well.

Up next – The schedule doesn’t get any easier as the College of Charleston (19-11, 4-2 CAA) comes to town for a three-game series starting today.
