JMU Football Invites Recruits To Gardner-Webb Game

With the new season here, JMU Football is starting to extend invites out to recruits. The season opener against Gardner-Webb is the first opportunity for the JMU Football coaching staff to get potential recruits into the building to see a JMU game day.

JMU has extended invites to recruits, and at least four have tweeted about accepting the invite and coming to the home opener against Gardner-Webb.

Josiah Perry is one of the first members of the Class of 2026 that is actively being courted by the JMU Football staff. The linebacker, who dabbles as a running back as well, is currently a junior at Massaponax High School in Fredericksburg, VA. As a sophomore he racked up 76 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss per MaxPreps. He is an interesting addition to track throughout his junior and senior season. It appears JMU may be one of the first schools to begin recruiting Perry.

Isaiah Lucas posted about his invite on September 2. Lucas is a cornerback and also a wide receiver for Tuscarora High School in the Class of 2025. He is also a premier return man. He was All-District at returner and an honorable mention for the All-State team. Per his Hudl, he runs a 4.37.

Michael Moshier is a quarterback out of Silsbee High School in Silsbee, Texas. Moshier is part of the Class of 2025 and posted about his invite on August 28. Moshier’s senior season began recently and in the season opener he tossed for 194 yards on 10-18 passing with three touchdowns. This season will be his second as the varsity starter.

Dawon Harvey recently posted about his invite and upcoming visit for the Gardner-Webb game. Harvey is a member of the Class of 2025 and is listed as a WR and CB for John Champe High School in Aldie, VA. Per Harvey’s Hudl he runs a 4.53 40-yard dash at 6’0, 178 lbs. As a junior he scored 12 touchdowns and had 901 all purpose yards.

Colton Kilmer the Class of 2025 QB from Gainesville High School shared with us that he will be attending the Gardner-Webb game. The 6’3 QB began his senior season against Potomac and threw for 215 yards, rushed for another 129 and had four touchdowns in three quarters.

The Class of 2025 is coming together for Bob Chesney & Co.

As it stands, the Dukes have added 16 verbal commits to the class, with eight on the defensive side and eight on the offensive side. The Dukes hosting WRs and QBs primarily makes sense as JMU has added just one verbal commit at the WR position and after recently losing out to JT Kitna after he chose UAB, the Dukes have no verbal commits from QBs.

The Gardner-Webb game was recently announced as a sell out. This matchup against the Runnin’ Bulldogs is a great opportunity to show off what JMU can do on the football field as well as in the stands at Bridgeforth.
