5 Transfers Who Could Soon Join JMU Football Via the Portal

JMU football’s transfer portal haul is up to 19 players, but Jacob LaFrance (associate AD of football personnel) recently posted on social media that the Dukes are up to 25 commitments from 53 official visits.

So who might be the mystery commits? Here’s a closer look at a handful of players who could publicly commit to JMU soon.

Tyler Brown, OL, Colorado — Most recently a Colorado Buffalo, Brown has experience playing in the Big 12, FCS, and Sun Belt. He was a standout for Jackson State in 2023, and he spent several years with Billy Napier at Louisiana. With over 1,800 career snaps, Brown would likely become a starter at guard for the Dukes. He just completed a visit to JMU.

Noah Grevious, WR, VMI — The Charlottesville native’s dad played at JMU, making him a particularly fun fit. He recently visited JMU after a stellar freshman season at VMI that included over 700 receiving yards. He could be an impact player in the Sun Belt, and his connections to the program make him a logical fit for the 2026 season.

Lathan Croley, LB, Holy Cross — The Holy Cross linebacker recorded 80 tackles in 2025 as a sophomore. He’s not huge — 6’ and 210 lbs — but he runs well and hits hard. He’d compete for a starting spot, and he’d give JMU two of the Sun Belt’s most athletic linebackers when paired with returner Gannon Weathersby. Croley recently visited and was offered.

Damier Minkah, CB, Shepherd — The Shepherd corner is also being recruited heavily by Iowa State. He has starting potential at 6’2 and 190 lbs, and he recently visited JMU and Iowa State. Given the path to immediate playing time, JMU is likely an intriguing destination for him.

Josiah Graham, DE, Monmouth — He put up 9.5 sacks in 2025, and he recently visited JMU. He’s received offers from a few MAC schools, but of his publicly announced offers, JMU is the top program. He’s also a Virginia native, who may prefer the in-state school over a MAC program.

Other names to monitor include Emory & Henry DE Mason Purham, ETSU OL Frankie Tinilau, Florida OL Enoch Wangoy, and Washburn DE Terell Thomas, among others.
